conditions as: Perioperative nursing includes the perioperative caring of the nurse anaesthetist or operating theatre nurse, as well as the perioperative dialogue
The aim of the synthesis was to achieve a new holistic understanding of health in the perioperative dialogue. BACKGROUND: A new way of working in the perioperative context is the 'perioperative dialogue model', which is the meeting between the nurse and the patient before, during and after a patient's surgery. METHOD: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 nurses, trained in working with the perioperative dialogue. The perioperative dialogue may be studied quantitatively, but it must involve the patient, who is an equal partner in the dialogue. Structured validated self-reporting measures may be used systematically before and after surgery in order to evaluate the perioperative dialogue using quantitative measures. The perioperative dialogue is the pre-, intra- and postoperative meeting between the nurse and patient in connection with the latter's surgery. METHODS: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 18 patients and 20 nurses, in which they described their experiences of perioperative dialogues.

Journal of Advanced Nursing62(1), 96–106 Abstract Title. Use of perioperative dialogues with children undergoing day surgery Aim. This paper is a report of a study to explore what it means for children to attend hospital for day surgery. Perioperative Patient Simulation (POPS) Perioperative Patient Simulations are iand gas entended to provide online practice for health care professionals caring for surgical patients during and after surgery. These simulations are based on mathematical models of the circulation xchange in the lung.

January 2000; Vård i Norden These patients and their nurse anaesthetists had three perioperative dialogues in the pre-, intra- and postoperative phase of care.
Methods Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 18 patients and 20 nurses, in which they described their experiences of perioperative dialogues. In the perioperative dialogue, focusing on the patient's experiences and needs is in contrast to patient's fears, resulting in a positive impact on the patient's ability to cope with the situation. In the role of the Helper, the NA described how the perioperative dialogue helped the patient master situations perceived as negative or frightening.

perioperative dialogue consists of the nurse anaesthetist’s or operating-room nurse’s and patient’s encounter, i.e. their meeting, relationship and information exchange about the operation on three occasions.
